Living Worlds

Players interested in creative simulation and building worlds.

Living Worlds developed from the Block World direction within AIKID into an independent world-building and simulation programme. Its central question is how a world can feel alive while remaining understandable to the person shaping it. Optional connections with AIKID are being explored, but the product is intended to stand on its own.

The proposed player experience connects building, population, transport, resources, services and environmental dependencies. Players would create a world, observe how its systems interact, then intervene and see what changes. The design places importance on visible causes and consequences, with experimentation that can be revisited rather than an opaque simulation that merely runs in the background.

The proposed first-world milestone is intended to test this experience at a manageable scale. Its purpose is to demonstrate connected behaviour, understandable feedback and the ability to save and recover the world. The programme is still establishing its product and simulation foundations. Artwork, design documents and experimental systems remain distinct from a finished playable release.
