ALFACAD

Engineering and CAD teams.

ALFACAD is a CAD platform programme centred on the way engineering teams develop, inspect and exchange design information. Its scope brings drawing and modelling into conversation with architecture, building systems and specialist engineering. The aim is a workspace where the model and its technical meaning remain central, with tools available when the task requires them.

The visual programme explores a main drawing workspace, object inspection, command discovery and a flexible tool library. CAD, BIM and specialist systems are being considered within a shared experience, while retaining the distinctions between geometry, calculations and presentation. These interface studies show the design direction, rather than proving that every illustrated tool is implemented.

The project is in controlled prototype development. Representative engineering workflows and files are used to frame the next validation steps. File compatibility, model fidelity and specialist calculations require their own evidence before they can become product claims. ALFACAD Solar is a workstream within this wider platform, with a distinct focus on solar engineering.
